The Hurt was chosen for the Colorado Conflict Resolution Month, October 2009, statewide reading campaign because of its universal message and straight forward presentation.  All ages, school mates, business colleagues and family members can understand the feeling of being overcome by the hurts that happen in our everyday lives.  Many of us do not know where to begin to make the hurt go away. 

 

This book, though it looks like a child's book, carries a message for all ages about inviting others to listen and help the hurt go away. The Hurt encourages us to address our problems, talk with the people who have hurt us and remember that our words and actions can so easily hurt others.
